Getting into aid spending in Afghanistan this week on the blog, and kicking it off with this infographic from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR). Those pretty colors tell a pretty ugly story, really, based on what the SIGAR has had to say recently.
So the DoD has spent $57.75 billion. USAID? $14.95 billion. Granted, only $3.44 billion of that goes to what could be classically defined as “aid,” via CERP. Still, does make one wonder why that doesn’t get more attention? Let’s see if we can remedy that, shall we?
